About the workshop/seminar

The networks seminar ran from Winter 2006 to Winter 2007. We had many good speakers and discussions. Starting in Fall 2007, there will be a networks reading group, led by Elizabeth Leicht, but the mailing list will continue to exist to announce related talks on campus.

Network research is flourishing in many departments on campus, including Sociology, the School of Information, the Center for the Study of Complex Systems, the Business School, Physics, Law, Computer Science and the college of Architecture and Urban planning. The pace of network research is increasing, in part because of new techniques for gathering data, access to data via the internet, and the availability of computational muscle to tackle large networks. This workshop & seminar aims to bring together students and faculty interested in network analysis from as many different disciplines as possible. To this end, we will meet weekly to hear some good speakers and to share our current thoughts and research.

If you are interested in being notified of networks-related seminars, please join the mailing list.
