Genetic Programming Theory and Practice Workshops -- GPTP
Starting in 2003 the Center for the Study of Complex Systems (CSCS) at the University of
Michigan has hosted an annual workshop on Genetic Programming Theory and Practice.
This workshop focuses on how theory can inform practice and what
practice reveals about theory. The goal is to evaluate the
state-of-the-art in genetic programming by discussing different
theories and their value to practitioners of the art and to review
problems and observations from practice that challenge existing theory.
These are small, invitation-only workshop on the campus of the
University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. The workshop format is
informal with plenty of time for discussion.
A series of edited volumes have resulted from these workshops,
published by Kluwer/Springer. See the individual workshop pages
for additional information about the workshops, the papers presented
and the resulting books.
We gratefully acknowledge the generous support from the following organizations and people
who have contributed to one or more of the GPTP workshops:
- Third Millenium
- State Street Global Advisors, Boston, MA
- Michael Korns, Investment Science Corporation
- Biocomputing and Developmental Systems Group, CSIS, University of Limerick
- Dow Chemical, Core R&D/Physical Sciences
- Evolved Analytics
- Genetics Squared, Inc.
