UM-SFI Conference -- September 28-29, 2006

The Foundations of Robustness.

This year's UM-SFI conference will focus on robustness.

The conference will feature leading scholars from biology, ecology, physics, engineering, computer science, anthropology, and sociology. We hope to advance our collective understanding of what we mean when we say that a system is robust and to come to a deeper understanding of the links between features of natural, physical, social, and engineered systems and robustness.

Speakers will include Jean Carlson, Doug Erwin and David Krakauer. Other speakers and schedule TBA.
